Birthday Wishes For One Of Fashion’s Best Talents

url

It is always a big deal when Trudi calls your agent to bring you in for polaroids. Things are probably going very well for you in terms of a modeling career when that phone call comes. This is the woman who advised Anna Wintour as the new faces editor at Vogue, which means Trudi knows better than your mom if you’ll make it in the business or not.  And, if you do have a chance, she’s the person that understands exactly what it will take to shape you into the next Giselle or Karolina Kurkova, who she managed during her time at DNA model management.

Trudi was one of the people in fashion that believed in my talent. She first introduced me to Anna and later represented me at DNA. What a relief if was to walk into my new agency and see Trudi sitting there. I knew I’d be in good hands with her on my side. I’m forever grateful for the guidance and support Trudi has given me over the years.

If you’re wondering if you’ve got what it takes or you want to hear more from Trudi herself, you’ve got a few options to connect with her.

Where To Go For Oscar ReCap

imgresIt’s that time of the year again when I simply guess who’s going to win awards on all the ballots presented at each years Oscar party. It’s not difficult, you just have to tune into the “vibes” on tabloid sites and magazine covers to get an idea of who’s headed to the podium.

Sometimes there’s an upset but usually Hollywood is as predictable as your high school prom king and queen announcement.

Regardless, I LOVE seeing all the galm and red carpet entrances. It’s fun to watch Hollywood stars look casual and stress free in gorgeous gowns that are being scrutinized and judged the second they step out of the limo. They have to sell it or their stylist loses her job (not really, but you get the pressure)

The other part I love to see is when the winners are announced. You do get to see a brief moment of true humanity if the camera can catch the glance, the divert of the eye, milliseconds to a smile and appreciative applause for the winner.

add2Next week, I’ve called on expert Ted Gibson to break down the Oscars. We’re going to talk about the fashion, the hair and of course the eye diverts and upsets. You can listen Wednesday following the Oscars at 1 pm EST on Matters of Today.

Trudi Tapscott Tells It Like It Is At Vogue, DNA And How To Make A Supermodel!!!

url-1Yesterday I interviewed fashion legend Trudi Tapscott.  And here’s why she’s a legend… this woman discovered and developed many of the faces you’ve come to recognize in the pages of Vogue and blue chip advertising. Yep.  She develops Supermodels before the world or even fashion knows they exist.   You’ve heard of Giselle and Karolina Kurkova. She knows the business inside and out. Here’s the thing, if the midas touch was actually a thing, this woman has it. Every talent she touches turns to gold.

Have a listen as Trudi and I cover her career trajectory, her days at Vogue, how she develops models and what it takes for a girl to make it in the industry. There was so much to cover we’ll be having her on again to discuss in depth scouting, development and how Trudi views some of the challenges models currently face.
