Some of the most inspirational moments I’ve witnessed on set have come from the instinctual talents of the stylist as they tweak the image into perfection. The touches of a stylist can be subtle or grand. Nearly imperceptible in its specifics, these touches allow the image to take on an all-encompassing persona. In the case of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, stylist Trish Summerville was able pull Lisbeth Salander’s style from our imaginations, bringing her character to life while creating a mass marketed branding opportunity for H&M. Wow.
How does someone take a look, typically ostracized in society, and create an appeal so widespread that teenagers and moms in middle America want to own it?
Craig Palmer and I spoke with Trish to find out more about her, her work and her views on the business of styling.
