Winner of Holland’s Next Top Model, Amanda Marchildon, won 85K this week. She sued her agents, Elite Model Agency, for dropping her contract after stating she was too fat to walk a runway. Do not mess with this girl.
From the Daily Beast “When Elite sent Marchildon packing, it claimed that her hips, measuring 92 centimeters (36¼ inches) were just too broad for her to get work. Marchildon starved herself and exercised relentlessly to try to lose the required two centimeters, but to no avail. A spokesman from Elite Models allegedly said that because of her “fat ass,” she was unfit for modeling.”
Oh man. How many times was I told by agents I was too fat to model? So many times agents simply stopped proposing me for work until I lost an inch off my hips. I never thought to sue. Crap. What’s the statue of limitations on this?
